Right now (Oct 29): The Halloween finale is here and the holiday season is already knocking. Today: Tricks & Treats at SCERA in Orem and the first Provo Towne Centre trunk-or-treat (3-5 p.m.). Oct 30: the Lehi Halloween Extravaganza and South Jordan's City Hallowe'en Party, with BooLights at Hogle Zoo closing its final night. Oct 31: Boo at the Zoo, Halloween at the Aquarium, Halloween on Lehi Main Street, the Jazz vs. the Trail Blazers, and the last calls for WitchFest, Cornbelly's, and the pumpkin patches. Then the November turn: Don Omar at the Delta Center (Nov 1), the Sandy Holiday Market (Nov 2-4), Brian Head's target opening and the Aquarium Lantern Festival (Nov 6), the Utes vs. BYU and RSL Decision Day on the same Saturday (Nov 7), Luminaria opening Nov 12, Christmas in Color and Holiday Lights at The Ballpark (Nov 14), and the Daybreak Winter Village rink (Nov 20). Here is the full rundown across every community we serve.

Just catching up? Our October 27 now guide covered the Mammoth's home opener and BooLights' final stretch, while the late-October through November guide has the holiday kickoff in detail. The 2026-27 Ski Season Preview covers passes and opening targets.

Ask Adam and Natalie to describe this exact week and they will tell you it is the friendliest pivot on the Wasatch Front calendar. One evening you are walking the kids through a trunk-or-treat, the next you are watching the first holiday lights blink on over an ice rink. The pumpkins and the snow gear share the same closet for a few days, and every city from Daybreak to Lehi seems to be planning a gathering at once. It is the week the calendar turns, and it is exactly the kind of rhythm that makes a neighborhood feel like home.

Here is what is worth your time from today through the holiday lights kickoff, in the communities we serve from Daybreak and South Jordan to Sandy, Draper, Herriman, Lehi, and beyond.

The Week Just Wrapped: A Home Opener, a Promenade and the Harvest Peak

Before we look ahead, a quick salute to the last seven days. The Utah Jazz opened their regular season at home on Friday, Oct 23 against the Pelicans and rolled through the Lakers, Grizzlies, and Spurs, while the Utah Mammoth's home opener on Oct 24 drew the valley's attention to the Delta Center just hours before the Utes took on No. 14 Houston at Rice-Eccles. The same Saturday, Pumpkin Promenade lit up Bingham Creek Regional Park in South Jordan with hundreds of carved jack-o'-lanterns, the downtown Salt Lake City Farmers Market held its final Saturday, and Witches' Night Out turned Gardner Village into the friendliest gathering of witches anywhere in the valley.

If you missed any of it, most of the season's best traditions keep running to the 31st. And Daybreak's decorated Halloween Homes Drive remains a self-guided route of the community's best-decorated houses all month, worth an evening drive with the kids before the holiday wraps.

Right Now: The Halloween Finale, From SCERA to Boo at the Zoo

The final stretch turns warm and city-run. Today, Thursday, Oct 29, brings Tricks & Treats at SCERA in Orem and the first of Provo Towne Centre's two trunk-or-treats (3-5 p.m.), while BooLights at Hogle Zoo glows through its last evenings (Oct 28-30, 6:30-9:30 p.m.) with the Dr. Frankenstein puppet show and the Witch's House. Friday, Oct 30 is the south valley's big night: the Lehi Halloween Extravaganza ("Creatures of the Night!") runs 5-8 p.m. at the Lehi Legacy Center with trick-or-treating, games, crafts, and food trucks, the South Jordan City Hallowe'en Party warms up families from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Lindon's Halloween Spooktacular takes over Lindon City Center Park from 6:30 p.m., and Frightbelly's, Utah County's longest-running haunt at Thanksgiving Point, holds its final night.

Halloween itself, Saturday Oct 31, is the grand finale. Families can start the day at Boo at the Zoo at Hogle Zoo (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.), then head south for Halloween at the Aquarium at Loveland Living Planet Aquarium (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.), a costume-friendly, not-too-scary pick right near Draper, or make the Halloween on Lehi Main Street rounds (4-6 p.m.). That evening the Jazz host the Portland Trail Blazers, and Sundance's Halloween lift rides and the Halloween Cruise on the Provo River both close out Oct 31. It is also the last call for Gardner Village WitchFest, Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point, Wheeler Farm Pumpkin Days, Kuwahara's Thriller Park in Draper, Mabey's Pumpkin Patch in South Jordan, the Crazy Corn Maze in West Jordan, and the Luminaria presale, so grab the final farm weekends and the best holiday slots while they last.

Last Chances: The Final Farmers Market Saturdays

Farmers market season is down to its final Saturday. In Utah County, the Provo Farmers Market keeps its Saturdays at Pioneer Park going through Oct 31 (opening at 10 a.m. now that the season has cooled), and the Farm Bureau Murray market at Murray Park holds its finale on Oct 31 as well. After this weekend, the outdoor markets pause until the winter editions open indoors: the Downtown SLC Winter Farmers Market returns Saturday, Nov 14 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m., through April), and Utah County's Provo Winter Market sets up at Provo Towne Centre later in November. For one more fresh-from-the-farm haul before then, this is the window.

The November Turn: Don Omar, the Sandy Holiday Market & the First Snow Watch

The month opens with a big downtown night: Don Omar: The Last King World Tour plays the Delta Center on Sunday, Nov 1, a rare Sunday arena show to kick off November. The same day, Festival of Trees tickets historically go on sale for the Dec 2-5 show at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy, so set a reminder if you want the best viewing slots.

The first full week of November is a gentle one, perfect for easing into the holidays. The Sandy Holiday Market (Wild Thistle) opens Monday, Nov 2 through Nov 4 at Crescent Hall, an early start to local gift shopping. Wednesday, Nov 4, Daybreak welcomes newcomers at the free New Resident Social at the Daybreak Community Center (5:30 and 6:15 p.m.), one of those small community touches Adam and Natalie love pointing out to buyers who are imagining daily life in the neighborhood. And across the valley, the Haunted Forest in American Fork and Nightmare on 13th in Salt Lake City keep their scares running into early November for anyone who wants a few more screams before the season truly ends.

Friday, Nov 6 starts the snow watch in earnest: Brian Head targets opening day as the state's earliest ski opener, Loveland Living Planet Aquarium's Lantern Festival begins its Nov 6-Jan 9 run with thousands of glowing lanterns across the Draper aquarium, a wonderful new family tradition, and downtown Provo hosts its first-Friday Art Stroll from 6 to 9 p.m.

The Holy War Weekend: Utes vs. BYU, RSL Decision Day and Disney On Ice

Saturday, Nov 7 stacks the valley like a festival. The Utes host BYU at Rice-Eccles Stadium at 10 a.m. in the Big 12 "Holy War" rivalry, and the Real Salt Lake close their regular season at home in RSL Decision Day, hosting the LA Galaxy at 5 p.m. at America First Field in Sandy before the MLS Cup playoffs begin. In between, families can catch Disney On Ice: Frozen & Encanto at the Delta Center, browse the Fall Orchid Show at Red Butte Garden (Nov 7-8, the largest orchid display in Utah), honor the community at the free Celebration of Veterans at SCERA in Orem (10 a.m.), or stop by Cars & Coffee at The Shops at Southtown in Sandy (9-11 a.m.). It is the rare Saturday when you could watch two of the state's biggest sports rivalries in one day without leaving the Wasatch Front.

Veterans Day Week: Simple Ways to Say Thanks

Veterans Day lands Wednesday, Nov 11, and the Wasatch Front marks it with a warm, community-first week. The Museum of Illusions in Salt Lake City offers free admission to veterans and active-duty military from Nov 11 through Nov 17, a fun, family-friendly thank-you in the heart of downtown. The VA Salt Lake City Health Care system hosts its annual Veterans Day parade and ceremony at the Foothill campus, and city offices across Herriman, Sandy, and South Jordan close for the day. It is also a big midweek for hoops: the Jazz return home Nov 10-11 against the Miami Heat and Orlando Magic at the Delta Center, and the Utah Mammoth come back on Nov 12 vs. St. Louis.

The Holiday Lights Turn: Luminaria, Christmas in Color and the Daybreak Winter Village

The moment Halloween wraps, the holiday season takes over, and this year it starts closer to home than ever. Luminaria at Thanksgiving Point's Ashton Gardens in Lehi opens Thursday, Nov 12 and runs through Jan 9, with 10 million lights across the 50-acre gardens, the towering Christmas tree, and new-for-2026 experiences like Christmas on the Lake and a 120-foot LED light-and-music show. The same week, the Salt Lake Family Christmas Gift Show fills the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy (Nov 12-14) with holiday shopping, Santa's Village, and craft vendors, and Wasatch Comic Con brings a free, family-friendly pop-culture weekend to Valley Fair Mall in West Valley City (Nov 13-14).

On Saturday, Nov 14, the lights come on all at once. Christmas in Color opens the same night in South Jordan at the USU Bastian Agricultural Center and in American Fork at Mary & Art Dye Park, radio-synced drive-through light shows running nightly into late December. Just down the road in Daybreak, Holiday Lights at The Ballpark at America First Square opens its walk-through display (Nov 14 through early January), turning the new Bees ballpark into a glowing family destination. The same day, the Downtown SLC Winter Farmers Market reopens indoors, Lights On at The Gateway begins its nightly downtown display, and Lehi's Mistletoe Market sets up at The Loft studio (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.).

New this year in South Jordan, the Daybreak Winter Village in Downtown Daybreak opens its outdoor ice rink on Friday, Nov 20 and skates through Feb 15, a family-friendly holiday destination right on the community's lakefront with skate rentals, thousands of lights, and the Holiday Lights displays at The Ballpark. Adam and Natalie are especially excited about this one: it turns Daybreak's walkable downtown into a true winter destination, which is exactly the kind of daily-life amenity that makes the community special. Then the crown-jewel displays return as the coziest weeks get underway: ZooLights at Hogle Zoo, the Gallivan Center ice rink, and Lights on Temple Square, with Herriman's Night of Lights at City Hall and Crane Park Plaza on Sunday, Nov 30 (6-8:30 p.m.) bringing Santa, music, games, crafts, and ice skating to close out the month.

Sports, Ski and the Thanksgiving Countdown

The calendars are already filling past mid-November. RSL's playoff push begins after Decision Day, the Utes close a blockbuster November slate after the BYU game, and the Jazz and Utah Mammoth keep the Delta Center busy through the month.

And the snow is getting close. As of late October no Utah resort has opened yet, but the targets are firming up: Brian Head targets Nov 6 as the state's earliest opener, Alta, Park City Mountain, and Solitude point at Nov 20, Snowbird targets Nov 27, and Deer Valley projects Dec 5, with Brighton and Sundance aiming for early December. Note that Eagle Point will sit out the 2026-27 season after the Cottonwood Fire, so plan the southern Utah trips accordingly. With a very strong El Nino on the forecast, it could be a big snow year, and the Salt Lake Ski Super Pass on-sale window is the moment to lock in the best Cottonwood rates before Brighton's Nov 3 price bump. Our 2026-27 Ski Season Preview has the full pass-by-pass breakdown.

Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, Nov 26, and the Wasatch Front marks the morning with some of the friendliest races in the region: the Utah Human Race at the Sandy Promenade (8 a.m., benefiting the Utah Food Bank), Runtastic THANKFUL at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi with its half marathon, 10K, 5K, and kids run, and Salt Lake City's Cold Turkey Run through City Creek Canyon all start the holiday with a family run for a good cause.

Cozy Season: Where the Warm Evenings Are

When the clocks fall back and the cold arrives, the south valley's dining scene turns cozy, and Daybreak's restaurant row is the weekend anchor all season long. A lakeside walk in the early dark followed by a warm meal is the quintessential Daybreak evening, and it is the kind of daily-life detail Adam and Natalie love to walk buyers through when they are imagining a move. For the full list of where to eat from Daybreak to Lehi this season, our Fall Dining Guide 2026 has the complete roundup of warm bowls, big shared tables, and slow coffee mornings.

Get out and enjoy the warmest stretch of the fall and the first glow of the holidays. If you are exploring the region for a possible move, a Halloween night at the Lehi Extravaganza or the aquarium, a Saturday at the Holy War and RSL Decision Day, an evening of ice skating at the Daybreak Winter Village, or an hour walking Daybreak's lake in the golden light is the truest way to feel daily life in these towns.
